Knowing how to listen attentively, in order to understand and find solutions that bring people together, is difficult. Javier Sanchez knew how to do this so well, with love, empathy and a gentleness that was uniquely his. That is why he was loved, respected and listened to. Together with his beloved wife Esther, another wonderful companion, we have lost him, tragically. We are all lost, bewildered and in disbelief.
This is the moment to listen to what we carry inside us, and to revisit the countless images and memories of all the places where our paths crossed over the past 20 years: in La Via Campesina, the IPC, the CSIPM, FAO, the CFS, at the Forums, and with us at Schola Campesina.
